Well – isn’t that nice! The groundhog saw his shadow so, as legends says, we can expect 6 more weeks of winter…UGH.
But it is February, which means I can check out my nearby garden center to see what seeds they are getting in and start planning. And if I really need to get out of the house, I can head downtown to the Minneapolis Convention Center later this month and take in the Home and Garden Show to really get excited about spring. If you’re in the area too, here are the details and a link to the Minneapolis Convention Center Web site.

I’m pretty sure we’d see six weeks of winter here no matter what! Aren’t Minnesota winters great?
I don’t know if I can concur that Minnesota winters are great…I’ve lived here all my life, but they are simply TOO long. I am looking forward to the Home and Garden show this weekend and I’m getting ready to place a plant order. Bring on Spring!
I also love the MN Landscape Arboretum and don’t get there as often as I’d like either. I could get ‘lost’ there forever…time flies and there are always good photo opps. I LOVE your photographs – you are a far better photographer than I.
Thanks for your comment and enjoy the sunshine today.
Thanks! I really have been enjoying our nice weather as of late, the daffodils I planted outside my apartment are sprouting so surely spring can’t be too far away! How was the Home and Garden show? I completely forgot about it this year!
The home and garden show was OK. I’m always really ready to see LOTS of plants and gardens this time of year, but there is more “home” than “garden”.
We did get some ideas for water features and a combo bench/flower box for a small deck we hope to construct this year.
I also love cooking, so I found a ‘grill’ pan that sits atop your burner and grills meat with no smoke, etc. I think I used it at least 3x this week – love it!
It was a gloriously beautiful day to spend with my hubby and perfect day for a drive to the cities.
I can’t believe you have daffs already – you must have a protected, sunny area. I’m SOOO jealous. All our garden is still under a bunch of snow…will be a long while before I see my bulbs poking their little heads out. I think I should force some indoors – whatta ya think?
